We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Manager at our National Seal Sanctuary, Gweek, Cornwall.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Attraction Manager, you will have responsibility for the day to day running of the business ensuring we take every opportunity to delight our visitors, creating a compelling reason for them to return. You will oversee all commercial activity as well as having a major influence on staff training, recruitment, activity planning and full duty management responsibilities.This role would be ideal for someone looking for a supervisory role as their next step. Full training and support will be provided.

About us

The National Seal Sanctuary is set in the picturesque Helford Estuary, by the beautiful village of Gweek, in Cornwall. The Sanctuary is a busy rescue centre with over 50 years experience of rescue, rehabilitation and release of seals. The centre is also home to resident Grey Seals, Common Seals, Fur Seals, Californian and Patagonian Sea Lions, Goats, Ponies and Otters.

The Person

You will need to be a highly self-motivated individual with excellent communication and organisational skills and possess a proven track record in supervisory management and procedures. We are a small team so naturally we will expect you to be prepared to roll your sleeves up and 'get your hands dirty' from time to time. You'll also possess high standards when it comes to ensuring our site is clean and presentable, just as our visitors expect from us.
