Your Role:

Two exciting and pivotal roles in the Business development team within Sodexo UK & Ireland's Integrated Facilities Management - Healthcare division has arisen, we currently are recruiting for two new positions these opportunities require an outstanding sales and business development leader to develop and execute on a sales strategy which targets, wins and retains key clients in line with the Healthcare proposition. The Healthcare segment currently manages a high value of business across the UK and has significant growth ambitions.

You will be accountable for the deliver of incremental additional revenue through the development and implementation of annual business development plan. Responsible for leading the development of tender/proposal submissions, ensuring deadlines are met, and company procedures are followed consulting with all stakeholders as appropriate. You will provide the business with market specific insight and intelligence and support the Business Development Director in developing the commercial strategy and resource requirements for each bid submission whilst developing a network of client relationships with current and future customers

The role will require the identification of target clients, the development of a sales pipeline accordingly through effective client relationship management and the expert use of practices to develop client insight, the leadership and development of a best-in-class sales and business development team and also assure effective performance against sales targets, including delivery of one's own sales targets. The role also requires the provision of thought leadership, practices and guidance to the IFM operations in developing commercially attractive relationships with both key and existing target clients.

About You:

Key accountabilities therefore include:

  • Definition of a robust and achievable sales strategy which successfully develops the sales pipeline and ensures profitable, co-ordinated business development activity across the Healthcare segment
  • Articulation of the Healthcare value proposition and the stimulation of confidence in all of our service lines and offerings, particularly to provide assurance to clients on our technical capabilities
  • Maintenance of an overview of all current and target accounts for the segment and the identification of the appropriate sales and bid practices that maximise the potential of the successful acquisition/retention of commercially attractive clients
  • Pioneering the use of best-practice sales and bid management practices throughout the segment, including within operations, to ensure achievement against win rates and to ensure that the return on time and financial investment in sales/bid activity consistently demonstrates economic value
  • Providing support for client retention through ensuring the business development team effectively engage and provide specialist support for re-bid activity in collaboration with operations
  • Development of a highly capable sales team to deliver consistently high performance, including the development and embedding of consistent bid and sales disciplines
  • Routine engagement with key clients and leadership by example in demonstrating excellence in client relationship management
  • Fostering strong industry networks to ensure continuous improvement and to provide insight through the effective use of market data and insight development techniques
  • Work effectively with our International Large Accounts team for key clients

Key skills and experience required of the role include:

  • A demonstrable track record of developing successful sales and business development strategies across a broad portfolio of target client groups, with accountability for multi-million sales and retention targets
  • Experience of successfully developing and taking innovative client propositions to market
  • A sound knowledge and understanding of the breadth of all IFM service areas, including both hard and soft facilities management
  • Experience of having operated successfully at a senior level within an outsourced B2B environment
  • Sound knowledge of the industry/client sectors, including knowledge of both private and public sector tendering and commissioning procedures
  • Exceptional client relationship management skills
  • Demonstrable technical capability in proposition development, sales and business development planning, account management and the management of the marketing mix across a broad range of clients, products and services
  • Outstanding communication, influencing and facilitation skills
  • High standards of numeracy and written communication, particularly in the production of excellent sales and bid copy
